PRIME Minister Anwar Ibrahim said he will present evidence to former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to back up allegations the latter enriched himself and his family while in power.

Anwar said he will provide his former mentor with the evidence after Dr Mahathir issued him with a letter of demand on March 27, following comments Anwar made on March 18.

Initially, Anwar was given seven days to respond but his lawyers asked for an extension until April 17.

“I don’t want to argue… He has asked for proof, I will give (him) proof, no problem,” Anwar said during a dialogue with Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) students in Shah Alam.

Anwar also said Mahathir’s governance had its strengths, but claimed that the former prime minister also had many weaknesses. – April 7, 2023.
