PEOPLE returning home to Kelantan during Hari Raya are advised to use the East Coast Expressway (LPT) or the West-East Expressway as an alternative to avoid congestion on the Gua Musang route.

Kelantan police chief Muhamad Zaki Harun said his officers are ready to deal with increased traffic expected in the two to three days before Hari Raya.

“If motorists use both routes, which can be accessed through Terengganu and Perak, traffic in Gua Musang will be under control,” he said at Gua Musang police headquarters last night.

Zaki said that due to the Lingkaran Tengah Utama Expressway closure for construction, police in Gua Musang are studying two alternative roads from Kuala Lumpur-Kota Baru-Kuala Lumpur to reduce congestion.

Zaki also hoped that road users would be patient with the ongoing construction work. – Bernama, April 7, 2023.
