PAHANG Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail today announced a Special Raya Assistance of RM1,200 for all 8,000 civil servants.

Besides the civil servants, he said the state government also agreed to provide financial assistance to four categories of recipients involving RM500 and RM200 each.

The RM500 assistance will be given to Village Development and Security Committee chairmen, deputy chairmen of the Settlement Development and Security Committee, Orang Asli Village Development and Security Committee chairmen and the Tok Batin, while RM200 will be distributed to village development secretaries, involving 2,773 individuals, he said.

He said RM200 in financial assistance will also be given to 700 orphans who are registered with the Social Welfare Department, state government pensioners (4,500 recipients) and single mothers (7,000).

“This special assistance involves financial implications of RM12.95 million for 22,973 recipients,” he said in a statement in Kuantan today.

Wan Rosdy said he hoped the assistance would help ease the burden of the recipients in preparing for Raya, which is expected to fall on April 22. – Bernama, April 4, 2023.
