THE payment of the second phase of the Rahmah Cash Aid will be credited in stages into the accounts of registered recipients beginning April 5, the Finance Ministry (MOF) said.
In a statement today, MOF said phase two of the aid amounts to RM1.26 billion which will be channelled to 8.7 million B40 recipients.
It said recipients in rural areas, including Sabah and Sarawak, with or without bank accounts, will also receive payment on the same date.
“Recipients can check their status on the same date and those who do not have a bank account can cash out the payment at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branches beginning April 5.
“With this, a total of RM2.93 billion in cash aid will be disbursed to the B40 group in 2023,” it said.
MOF said the payment of phases three and four of the Rahmah Cash Aid will be carried out according to the schedule set in July and November, taking into account any new applications or updates of recipients received.
As of March 31, the ministry had received a total of 714,918 new applications and 2,618,104 updated applications and. These would need to go through the verification process before they are approved.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim had previously said he wanted the disbursement of the Rahmah Cash Aid phase two to be done by mid-Ramadan or early April before Hari Raya Aidilfitri. – Bernama, April 3, 2023.
