MCDONALD’S is planning to fire corporate employees and temporarily close its US offices, say reports.

Citing internal communications among company staff, the Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that the workers were instructed to work from home today till Wednesday.

“During the week of April 3, we will communicate key decisions related to roles and staffing levels across the organisation,” the company said in its message quoted in the report.

The email was sent to McDonald’s employees last week asking them to cancel all in-person meetings at company headquarters with vendors and other outside parties.

The number of employees who will laid off as part of a broader company restructuring remains unknown. – Bernama, April 3, 2023.
