UMNO president Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has confirmed all its candidates will use the “dacing” symbol for the elections in six states. 

The deputy prime minister said other parties in the unity government will be using their own symbols for their candidates.   

“Nonetheless, among parties in the government, we will be mobilised as one machinery,” he told reporters after attending the Majlis Santunan Kasih Ramadan organised by the Rural and Regional Development Ministry at Masjid Al-Ansar, in Sri Pantai Camp, Kuala Nerus yesterday.

Asked on the allocation of seats, the Barisan Nasional chairman said Umno and other parties in the government have yet to formally discuss the matter.

In this regard, Zahid announced Terengganu Umno chairman Dr Ahmad Said’s reappointment as Central Terengganu Development Authority (Ketengah) chairman.

He said it is hoped this would drive development in three districts under Ketengah namely Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman. – Bernama, March 29, 2023.
