CHICKEN supplies nationwide are adequate to meet demand until Hari Raya at the end of next month, Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Salahuddin Ayub.

“I have received detailed information today from the Department of Veterinary Services. Officially, the data show that there is enough to last until Hari Raya,” he said in Johor Baru today.

Salahuddin said ministry enforcement officers have been instructed to tighten monitoring throughout Ramadan until after Hari Raya.

“My advice to traders is, as long as the government still sets a control price or ceiling price for chicken, which is RM9.40/kg, I hope it will be followed.

“If they are dealing with supply issues or need help, we are ready to do so,” he said. – Bernama, March 26, 2023.
