THERE was no need for DAP leader Lim Guan Eng to be dramatic about Bersatu youth’s police report against Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, its chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal said.

The Bersatu youth chief said he hopes Lim will also obey the law when accusing others.

“Lim went to the police station prepared with a ‘Muhyiddin slanders’ (Muhyiddin fitnah) banner when lodging his police report (against Muhyiddin).

“This is all DAP propaganda because Lim was affected by what I said,” Wan Fayhsal said in a post on Facebook today.

He was responding to a statement by the former finance minister earlier today.

Lim had accused Wan Fayhsal of committing a criminal offence in lodging a “false police report” against Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and himself over the Albukhary Foundation’s tax exemption status. He also said the Bersatu youth chief has shown disrespect to the parliament by bringing the police into parliamentary proceedings.

“Lodging a false report is a criminal offence under section 182 of the penal code,” the Bagan lawmaker said.

Wan Fayhsal said he was certain in his knowledge about the issue and Bersatu’s police report was clear and easy to understand.

“There is no need for Lim to threaten me. I am confident in what I said and I will defend my leaders who were betrayed.

“Umno and DAP will be punished in the state elections. We shall wait and see. In the meantime, don’t play dirty,” he said. – March 25, 2023.
