THE flood situation in Batu Pahat continues to improve, with the number of evacuees dropping to 2,540 at 8am today from 3,086 at 8pm last night.
The Johor Disaster Management Committee, in a statement today, said 701 families are still taking shelter at 20 relief centres.
“The three shelters with the most number of evacuees are SK Seri Medan with 320 victims, followed by Sekolah Agama Seri Medan (314) and SK Seri Aman (257),” it said.
The committee said 5,269 officers from various agencies are involved in post-flood missions in several areas in Batu Pahat.
The weather for all 10 districts in the state is forecast to be bright this morning, with river levels all below the danger mark. – Bernama, March 22, 2023.
