PAS has urged the authorities to act against a nightclub, set to feature “men in female underwear” in its opening on March 30.
Party secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said action must be taken against Privacy Tun Razak for hosting ”immoral” acts ahead of the fasting month.
He also questioned the club, located in Jalan Tun Razak, over the use of the late prime minister’s name.
“Such an act is most insensitive and irresponsible, and amounts to insulting the good name of the country’s leader,” said Takiyuddin in a statement.
Takiyuddin added that authorities should not lightly approve names chosen by individuals and businesses.
A Facebook post by the nightclub said it has 250 slots for its grand opening on March 30.
“Don’t have to go to Thailand this time because they’re coming to Malaysia… Surrounded by a bunch of handsome guys in super sexy pyjamas,” said one of the posts.
The post was written in Chinese.
Takiyuddin said the event promotes a “hedonistic, obscene and promiscuous culture”, and does not espouse the aspiration of the nation to bring about a society of morals and noble character that contributes to the common wellbeing.
PAS has been consistent in its call for censure over acts and shows it perceives to go against the teaching of Islam.
In recent weeks, it had also taken offence against local movie “Mentega Terbang” for allegedly offending Islam. – March 22, 2023.
