PERIKATAN Nasional (PN) has rejected Pejuang’s application to join the coalition.

“The supreme council has made a decision to reject the application of Pejuang to be in the coalition,” PN secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin said in a statement today.

Previously, Jitra assemblyman and former Kedah menteri besar Mukhriz Mahathir had applied to join PN, saying the decision was to ensure Malay votes are not split in the coming state elections.

Hamzah also said that the supreme council has decided to use the PN emblem in four of the six states for the upcoming polls.

“We will use the PN logo in Kedah, Selangor, Penang and Negri Sembilan.

“Meanwhile, we will campaign under the PAS logo in Kelantan and Terengganu.

“Members in the six states were also told to strengthen and be prepared to the highest level,” he said.

Hamzah added that Kedah Menteri Besar Muhamad Sanusi Md Nor has been named coalition election director.

He added that Ronald Kiandee is Sabah PN liaison chief, while Putrajaya MP and former education minister Mohd Radzi Jidin is Federal Territories PN liaison chief.

All the six states must hold elections by September, with polls expected in June. – March 21, 2023.
