THE Penang High Court here today declared celebrity entrepreneur Norjuma Habib Mohamed bankrupt after she failed to repay a debt of RM260,400 to Fame Up Entertainment.
Deputy Registrar Siti Zulaikha Nordin recorded the bankruptcy order against Norjuma after hearing the creditor’s petition filed in October last year.
Court documents showed Fame Up Entertainment applied for a bankruptcy order against Norjuma after she did not pay the company the sum as ordered by the Kuala Lumpur High Court in October 2021.
The firm’s lawyer, Muhammad Hassanuddin Roslan said two courts issued an arrest warrant for Norjuma last year.
“Today is the hearing date for the creditor’s petition but Norjuma failed to appear, for the third time,” he added.
He said a warrant of arrest had been issued against Norjuma by the Kuala Lumpur Court and the Shah Alam Court last year.
Fame Up Entertainment owner Zuriawati Zaidi, 44 was present in court.
The company filed two defamation suits against Norjuma in 2019 and 2020. – Bernama, March 21, 2023.
