AT least seven homes and six vehicles were damaged by 15 fallen trees following a thunderstorm in Taman Desariang, Damansara Damai, Selangor, early this morning.

More than 20 fire and rescue workers from four fire stations were deployed to the scene after distress calls were made around 4.20am.

“As soon as they arrived, we were informed about 15 trees had felled and damaged about seven homes,” said Selangor Fire and Rescue director Morni Mamat.

“Twenty-nine firemen and five fire engines from the Damansara, Sungai Buloh, Kota Anggerik and Rawang fire stations were dispatched to the location of the incident,” he added.

Morni added that six vehicles parked by the roadside were damaged.

“Fortunately, no one was injured and we have removed the debris,” said the fire and rescue chief in a brief statement.  – March 21, 2023.
