A PLATFORM called Digital Serumpun has been established to boost the development of Malaysian-Indonesian entrepreneurship in the digital economy.
Digital Serumpun will encourage the development of a local entrepreneurial community while developing an integral network between the neighbouring partners, said its promoters.
The platform is the brainchild of Malaysian private consulting company JNJ Management Consultants, which has formed a partnership with Indonesian social movement OK OCE.
JNJ has over 15 years of experience in guiding entrepreneurs and local companies to grow and be competitive in facing the challenges of the digital era.
JNJ has helped nearly 150,000 local entrepreneurs to expand their businesses.
OK OCE was founded by the Indonesian entrepreneur Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno in 2017. It is a social movement that creates jobs and micro-business opportunities, targeting the youth in Indonesia.
The two parties signed a memorandum of cooperation at the Indonesian Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry in Jakarta yesterday.
JNJ chief executive officer Fauziah Husain said with the digital platform, both sides have access to expertise and infrastructure in order to assist the development of entrepreneurs in pioneering their respective businesses.
“We adapt and complement the structure implemented by OK OCE, whereby they focus on social development followed by the community before developing a business,” said Fauziah
“On the Malaysian side, we will bring businesses that have the potential to cooperate with the community before generating a social movement.
“We may come from different backgrounds and with varied approaches, but through Digital Serumpun we are capable of forming a cooperation that will largely benefit all parties involved.
Sandiaga said the partnership will be beneficial for both sides as “we provide support for more business and job opportunities”.
“We are also hoping for a swifter revitalisation of the economy,” he said. – March 21, 2023.
