THE Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) wants Pakatan Harapan (PH) to make a decision on its application to join the coalition.
Its president, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, said the party had sent three letters enquiring about the status of its application to join PH, which it made before the November general election.
The Muar lawmaker said the youth-based party was not angling for a position in the federal government.
“We are loyal. We stood by Anwar Ibrahim prior to the election, during the election, after election, and until now.”
“We are not expecting posts. It’s about being able to be part of the decision-making in policies and deciding the future of the country,” he told reporters in parliament today during a press conference.
Syed Saddiq said the Muda was prepared for any decision made by the PH leadership.
“Whatever answer they give we will accept, but we need an answer. So that there is a finality to this process,” he said.
He said the uncertainty had affected the party’s preparation for the state elections. – March 20, 2023.
