Dewan Rakyat to discuss 31% renewable energy share by 2025

MEASURES and implementation costs to achieve 31% renewable energy share by 2025 will be discussed in the Dewan Rakyat today.

Wong Shu Qi (Kluang-PH) will pose the question to the natural resources, environment and climate change minister.

Dr Jeffrey Kitingan (Keningau-GRS) will ask if the establishment of the carbon asset exchange in Kuala Lumpur will affect the rights of Sabah and Sarawak to establish carbon exchanges in their respective states, as well as have carbon credit trades generated from the two states.

Adnan Abu Hassan (Kuala Pilah-BN) will ask the youth and sports minister on the efforts and cross-ministerial cooperation being planned to boost youth development in line with the New Youth Development Model 2030, which will be launched this year.

In addition, M. Saravanan (Tapah-BN) wants to know the government’s proactive measures to realise the centralised labour quarters for foreign workers, and and that they meet the standards set by the government and local authorities.

Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah (Langkawi-PN) is expected to pose a question to the home minister on treatment rights of people with disability involved in drug addiction and whether the government will build a special rehabilitation centre for the group.

After the question and answer session, the sitting will continue with the debate and winding up of the Supply Bill 2023 at the committee level. – Bernama, March 20, 2023.
