PAHANG Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, Higher Education Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin and Titiwangsa MP Johari Abdul Ghani have officially been announced as the new Umno vice-presidents for the 2023-2026 term.

Umno election committee chairman Shahrir Abdul Samad made the announcement at Menara Dato Onn today.

Pahang Umno chief Wan Rosdy garnered votes from 124 divisions as at 2pm today, putting him in the lead.

His Johor counterpart Khaled defended his vice-presidentship by getting votes from 114 party divisions.

Johari, who is Federal Territories Umno chief, secured the third slot with votes from 107 divisions.

“There are still four divisions that have yet to submit their election results,” Shahrir said.

“The committee, however, believes that the outcome of the polls at these four divisions will not change the current standing,” he added.

Incumbent Mahdzir Khalid failed to retain his position, and another incumbent, Ismail Sabri Yaakob, did not contest. – March 19, 2023.
