THE government is looking for a new chief executive to head Digital Nasional Bhd after deciding not to extend Augustus Ralph Marshall’s term, which ended earlier this week, The Vibes reported.
The report said Marshall’s contract ended on March 11 and had not been extended beforehand.
The news portal added that the CEO’s role in the government’s special purpose vehicle for the nation’s 5G roll-out is temporarily being split between two officials, while several candidates have already been lined up as a replacement.
The new CEO will be tasked to implement the unity government’s target of 80% coverage by the end of this year instead of the earlier target of end-2024.
Marshall, who led the roll-out of Maxis and Astro Networks, was appointed DNB CEO in March 2021. – March 16, 2023.
