MALACCA and Pahang have fully recovered from floods that occurred earlier this month, after the last three temporary relief centres were closed today.
IN MALACCA, the State Disaster Management Committee said the shelter at SK Parit Penghulu in Jasin district, which housed 24 people, was closed at 10.30am.
IN PAHANG, two shelters in Rompin, which housed 127 victims, shut down around 10am.
The secretariat reported that 90 evacuees at SK Leban Chondong and 37 people at SK Kampung Aur were allowed to return home after the situation was confirmed safe.
IN JOHOR, the committee said the number of flood victims dropped slightly from 38,587 people at 8am to 38,456 currently taking shelter at 121 centres.
Batu Pahat has the highest number of victims with 37,717, followed by Muar (504), Segamat (172) and Tangkak (63).
The weather is predicted to be sunny in nine districts, except Kluang, which is expected to be cloudy this evening. β Bernama, March 14, 2023.
