PKR Youth deputy chief Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim will lodge a police report against Muhyiddin Yassin today for alleging the corruption charges against the latter were made “by the most powerful party in the national administration”.

The political secretary to the finance minister said Muhyiddin made this statement after he was released on bail on Friday.

The former prime minister was charged with four counts of abuse of power and two counts of money laundering to the tune of RM232.5 million. The Bersatu leader denied all six charges.

Muhyiddin then told the press the charges were decided upon even before the investigation was complete.

“They used enforcement agencies as tools to achieve their political goals.

“Obviously, the prosecution was a form of planned political predation. It was an organised political persecution,” Muhyiddin said after proceedings at Kuala Lumpur High Court.

This morning, the Bersatu president pleaded not guilty to a fresh charge of money laundering at the sessions court in Shah Alam.

Standing before judge Rozilah Salleh, the Pagoh MP was accused of laundering RM5 million through party accounts.

He was charged under section 4(1)(b) of the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001. – March 13, 2023.
