SUKA Menanti assemblyman Zamri Yusuf has been named Kedah assembly opposition leader, replacing Johari Abdul who vacated his Gurun seat in December last year.

The appointment of the PKR assemblyman was announced by Kedah Speaker Juhari Bulat before the start of the oral question and answer session at Wisma Darul Aman, Alor Star, today.

Juhari also said the Gurun seat would remain vacant until the end of the term.

On December 18, Johari announced his decision to vacate Gurun with immediate effect, adding that he had submitted a letter to the speaker on December 13.

Meanwhile, Juhari also announced that Alor Mengkudu assemblyman Phahrolrazi Mohd Zawawi is now a PKR representative.

It was reported that the former Kedah Amanah chairman had been ejected from the party for violating its constitution. – Bernama, March 13, 2023.
