BERSATU members have gathered at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex in support of party president Muhyiddin Yassin, who is set to face corruption charges today.

Some supporters were seen wearing printed white T-shirts with the slogan: “Rakyat bersama abah (the people are with father)”.

The former Muhyiddin administration tried to introduce the “abah” moniker to appeal to voters while he was in power but it did not gain much traction outside his supporter base.

Meanwhile this morning, supporters carried placards reading: “malicious intent” and “kerajaan gagal (failed government)”.

Party leaders present at the court complex included deputy president Ahmad Faizal Azumu, secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin, information chief Razali Idris, women’s chief Mas Ermieyati Samsudin, former Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker Rashid Hasnon and youth information chief Mohd Ashraf Mustaqim Badrul Munir.

Mohamed Azmin Ali, Rina Harun, Radzi Jidin and PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan were also present.
