POLICE are investigating an assault report lodged by a woman, said to be the second wife of a former police chief, following an argument at their home in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur last week.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Azmi Abu Kassim told The Malaysian Insight that police received separate reports from both parties, including the former police chief.

“We received both reports on March 1,” Azmi said.

According to sources, the 42-year-old woman asserted that she was assaulted by the former police chief, in his 70s, during an argument over the division of properties and alimony payments.

“The argument started when the former police chief returned home to give the woman some money.

“The woman started recording his every move, which angered him.

“He grabbed her handphone and in the ensuing struggle the woman claimed she was assaulted on her head and the back of her neck.”

The former police chief lodged the report through his lawyer, where he claimed he was assaulted with a helmet. – March 7, 2023.
