PRIME Minister Anwar Ibrahim is not opposed to giving opposition lawmakers the same allocations for their constituencies as their government counterparts.

For this to happen, however, he said there must first be negotiations between the government with the opposition bloc.
Anwar recommended that the opposition deals with the government’s chief whip on the matter.
“In principle, I don’t object to providing opposition MPs with the same allocations that are granted to government MPs. That has always been my stand.
“However, the engagement process hasn’t even started. (There has) only been the process of making enemies.
“The faster we conclude negotiations, the faster the allocations can be approved. If we can conclude (talks) tomorrow, we can approve (the allocations) the following day,” he told parliament this morning during question time.
Several opposition MPs, including Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin and PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang (Marang-PN), had in the budget debates, asked the government to ensure equal allocations for all representatives. – March 7, 2023.
