Dewan Rakyat to discuss flood emergency

THE question of why the government has not declared a flood emergency, especially in Johor, will be discussed at the Dewan Rakyat today.

Based on the Order Paper, Shahidan Kassim (Arau-PN) will pose the question to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim during the Ministers’ Question Time.

There will also be a question by Sim Tze Tzin (Bayan Baru-PH) to the prime minister on the implication of Amazon Web Services’ RM25.5 billion investment commitment to the country’s economy by 2037.

The prime minister will also be asked about government plans and preparations in ensuring the business community and private sector in Sabah and Sarawak can benefit through networkings such as company to company, business-to-business and government-to-government with the shifting of the capital of Indonesia to Kalimantan.

The matter will be raised by Yusuf Abd Wahab (Tanjong Manis-GPS).

During the oral answer session, Suhaimi Nasir (Libaran-BN) will pose a question to the communications and digital minister on the status of achieving high-speed internet in Sabah, which should have made the switch to 5G technology.

Abdul Hadi Awang (Marang-PN) will ask the prime minister on measures by the government to establish an ombudsman system to deal with misconduct among politicians, government servants and the authorities.

After the question and answer session, the house will continue with the debate on the Supply Bill 2023 at the policy level. – Bernama, March 7, 2023.
