Terengganu’s amphibious bus fails first test

TERENGGANU Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman refuted claims the RM3 million amphibious bus (Amphicoach) is damaged.

This followed a video clip showing the stalled vehicle in the river that went viral on social media.

Razif said there was a minor fault after he test-drove the vehicle in Sungai Terengganu yesterday.

“I asked for a simulation to test the bus. While driving it, it’s water jet propulsion hose came loose and was disconnected. ‘Alhamdulillah’ (praise to God) the rescue team managed to control the situation.

“Perhaps, it happened because I have no experience handling the bus, so we have to make sure the bus is manned by an expert,” he said after witnessing the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Epic Berhad, CMC Engineering Sdn Bhd and T7 Global Berhad for cooperation on the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project at Wisma Darul Iman in Kuala Terengganu yesterday. – Bernama, March 15, 2018.
