PRIME Minister Anwar Ibrahim today visited flood evacuees who sought shelter at the SK Gemereh relief centre in Segamat.
Anwar arrived at 11.20 am and spent about 20 minutes with the 32 displaced families, who gave him a warm welcome.
He also inspected the children’s activity room at the centre run by the Social Welfare Department.
Anwar was earlier briefed on the flood situation at the 4th Royal Artillery Regiment Segamat Camp.
He is scheduled next to visit the flood victims at SJKC Kampung Tengah relief centre, where 502 people are housed.
The number of flood evacuees in Johor grew to 44,860 this morning. Batu Pahat is the district hardest hit by floods.
Four people have died so far in the disaster.
