SPECIAL operations are under way to assist flood victims in critical areas in Johor, said Menteri Besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

He said govt agencies met last night to plan the operations.

“Special operations in critical areas are ongoing and will continue to help flood victims. Several matters were also decided during the meeting,” he said on Facebook last night.

Onn Hafiz said the state was prepared for another possible wave of floods amid warnings of more rain in several districts.

He also called on the people of Johor to pray to Allah for the flood disaster to end.

As of 4am today, 44,860 people had been evacuated to shelters in all 10 districts of the state. Batu Pahat was the worst-hit district with 14,030 evacuees. – Bernama, March 5, 2023.
