THE Police Force Commission (PFC) will determine a candidate to replace Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, who will retire March 14.

Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said the force has identified several eligible candidates to fill the position before the PFC makes its decision.

“We have some high-ranking positions in the force that will be vacated due to compulsory retirement. Any decision and selection will be made in a PFC meeting soon.

“There are already a number of qualified candidates who will be considered by the commission to fill the posts,” he told reporters after attending the 2022 PDRM Excellent Service Award ceremony in Bukit Aman today.

Razarudin was appointed deputy inspector-general of police on December 26, 2021, to replace Mazlan Lazim.

Razarudin was previously Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department director.

Commenting on the rescue operation of flood victims in Johor, Acryl Sani said 369 policemen have been sent to the state.

“We are aware that this Johor flood is one of the worst since 2006. We have mobilised manpower and PDRM assets, and of course the National Disaster Centre has been activated by mobilising all elements comprising temporary evacuation centres, food aid, and rescue work.

“We have sent 369 officers to help ease difficulties faced by the flood victims there,” he said.

He also said Segamat’s Chaah police station operations are suspended for repairs.

“Police quarters at the Segamat police headquarters were also flooded, and 126 victims were transferred to a relief centre. The operation of the Bahau police station, which was also affected by the flood, is unaffected because only the fence collapsed,” he said. – Bernama, March 3, 2023.
