PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang today said that the unity government cobbled together by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim would collapse.

The Marang MP said when it does, then no one, particularly the unity government, could point fingers at the opposition.
Debating Budget 2023 in the Dewan Rakyat, Hadi said the government’s inadequacy and weaknesses would be the reasons for the collapse.
Going back to 2020 and the fall of the first Pakatan Harapan (PH) government, Hadi said the fall was not “through the backdoor” in a sly reference to the political manoeuvering, popularly dubbed as the Sheraton Move.
PH MPs had met at the Sheraton Hotel to defect to the opposition triggering the collapse of the government that was helmed by Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
He said after the general election, Anwar and the coalition he leads was forced to take in “small and diseased parties” to achieve the sufficient number of seats to form the government.
In his debate, Hadi also questioned the delay in allocating the opposition MPs’ development funds.
He said the delay was not only against democratic principles.
It was also unIslamic. – February 28, 2023
