TUAN Ibrahim Tuan Man (Kubang Kerian-PN) has apologised to the Dewan Rakyat over accusations he had made when debating the royal address, which he claimed was provided by the government.

R.S.N. Rayer (Jelutong-PH) raised his objections, saying Tuan Ibrahim’s claim was malicious.

Tuan Ibrahim, who is the former environment and water minister in the previous government, told the Dewan Rakyat he had met with speaker Johari Abdul and had given his explanation.

“I don’t think this issue needs to be prolonged because we have many other important matters to discuss. I apologise if there was a mistake,” he said.

Earlier, Johari confirmed he had had a meeting with Tuan Ibrahim after the issue was raised.

“This is the spirit that we have. I have met Kubang Kerian. Our understanding is different but I have been informed of what he said.”

Last week, furore erupted in the Dewan Rakyat when Tuan Ibrahim claimed the royal address for the parliament sitting’s opening ceremony was prepared by the government and approved by the cabinet. – February 28, 2023.
