FINANCE Minister Anwar Ibrahim today said Sabah and Sarawak will be allocated a combined amount of RM12.1 billion under Budget 2023.

“Sabah will receive RM6.5 billion and Sarawak will receive RM5.6 billion in total to promote development in both states.
“The allocation consists of RM1 billion to develop cities bordering Kalimantan, Indonesia which include Kalabakan, Sabah and Ba’kelalan, Sarawak,” he said during the re-tabling of the budget today.
Of the amount, RM2.5 billion will be allocated for the execution of public infrastructure development projects in Sabah and Sarawak involving road projects, street lights as well as water and electric supply.
He also said the government wanted the long overdue Pan Borneo Highway project to be completed. – February 24, 2023.
