Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani has discouraged senior force members from using the term “my man” (“orang saya”) when referring to their subordinates.

He said all personnel should be treated equally.

“It is an unhealthy culture. I ask all district police chiefs, department heads, and personnel to do away with calling someone ‘my man’ or ‘orang saya’. I ask that they be under the leadership of Datuk,” he said, referring to new Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan.

“The IGP or OCPD (district police chief) do not have favourites because all officers and staff are working for PDRM under me,” he said at the handing over of duties to the Selangor police chief,

Acryl Sani said the Selangor police contingent is in capable hands.

Hussein was previously Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department deputy director of intelligence/operations and National Disaster Management Agency operations director. – Bernama, February 24, 2023.
