THE GROUP of youths who marched through Setiu carrying replica weapons and wearing period battledress may trigger public unease, Terengganu Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah Raja Ahmad said today.

As such, he said the party lodged a police report at Kuala Terengganu police headquarters, urging the authorities to conduct an investigation and take appropriate action against the group.

He said the group’s action was extreme and could disrupt racial harmony nationwide.

“The parade held openly with participants wearing battledress carrying replica weapons like swords and spears is a form of intimidation that can cause public concern.

“Our view is PAS is now getting bolder to show their extreme attitude without thinking about the impact on racial unity in this country,” he said at Kuala Terengganu police headquarters.

In addition, Raja Kamarul said he regretted the apparent approval of the march by PAS leaders.

He also said the march could be seen as disobeying the decree of the Council of Rulers, who called for all parties to preserve the country’s prosperity and stability.

Terengganu police chief Rohaimi Md Isa was reported as saying that the police will conduct an investigation to identify the offences committed during the parade and appropriate action will be taken. – Bernama, February 20, 2023.
