MALAYSIA logged 186 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing the cumulative number of infections to 5.041 million. 

Johor reported the only coronavirus-related fatality, taking the national death toll to 36,956.

Of the new infections, Selangor reported 78 cases, Kuala Lumpur (33), Johor (11), Putrajaya (10), Malacca (9), Negri Sembilan (9), Sarawak (7), Sabah (6), Penang (6), Pahang (6), Kedah (6), Perak (3), Perlis (1) and Kelantan (1). 

Terengganu and Labuan did not register any new infections yesterday. 

Active cases increased slightly to 9,333 as 158 patients recovered from the illness. 

A total of 9,000 people were in home quarantine (96.4%) and 333 were in hospital (3.6%).

Seven patients were admitted to intensive care, with four requiring respiratory support. – February 20, 2023.
