MetMalaysia said the 24-hour monitoring of seismic activity and earthquakes conducted by the department did not detect any earthquakes, as claimed in a video that went viral on social media recently.
It has advised the public not to panic but instead refer to authentic sources for information.
Information related to earthquakes can be obtained on MetMalaysia’s social media pages as well as on its official website.
Earlier a video clip that went viral TikTok claimed that an earthquake could take place in Sabah and Sarawak on February 13 and 14.
