AN express bus driver and 15 passengers escaped with minor injuries when the vehicle they were travelling in skidded and overturned at Km5.5 of the Butterworth Outer Ring Road, heading towards Bagan Ajam, early this morning.

Penang Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Mohd Faisol Zainudin said they were alerted to the incident at about 4.20am.

“Upon arrival at the scene, our team found that an express bus had skidded and overturned on the side of the road,” he said today.

“We removed 15 passengers and the bus driver from the vehicle.

“All the victims – six men and 10 women – were taken to Seberang Jaya Hospital for treatment.” – Bernama, February 6, 2023.
