THE number of flood victims in Johor and Sabah dropped to 552 people in temporary relief centres as at 8pm tonight.
IN JOHOR, the state Disaster Management Committee (DMC) said 506 people were housed in relief centres tonight, compared with 623 in the afternoon following the closure of one centre in Batu Pahat at 4pm.
Five centres are still operating in two districts – in Batu Pahat, with 480 victims from 132 families in four centres, and Segamat, with 26 people from nine families in one relief centre.
Sungai Bekok in Batu Pahat exceeded the danger level with a reading of 18.92m.
IN SABAH, the DMC secretariat said the number of flood victims tonight decreased to 46 people from 12 families, who were relocated to one relief centre in Beaufort, compared with 134 victims from 40 families this afternoon. – Bernama, February 5, 2023.
