RAPID Bus Sdn Bhd said it received support and cooperation from the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to launch an intermediate bus service as an alternative to the disrupted Ampang LRT line.
According to a Rapid Bus statement, this service was activated this evening during peak hours and was the result of discussions to help launch intermediate bus trips that support alternative routes along the Ampang LRT line, especially between the Hang Tuah and Bandaraya stations.
“The support given is for bus routes especially during peak hours. DBKL agreed to place cones on the far left of Jalan Raja Laut for the use of the intermediate LRT buses,” said the statement.
The statement said other efforts include the use of roads that are closed during peak hours.
DBKL allows Rapid KL buses to use Jalan Tun Perak if this road is closed during peak hours.
DBKL agreed to also station enforcement officers at Jalan Tun Perak and Bulatan Dato’ Onn traffic lights, with the support of Prasarana Malaysia Bhd auxiliary police at these locations.
According to Rapid Bus, DBKL allowed it to install tents at affected LRT stations for the convenience and comfort of commuters.
“Rapid Bus would like to thank DBKL for the additional support given to commuters affected by the disruption of the Ampang LRT line service between the Masjid Jamek and Bandaraya LRT stations,” it added. – Bernama, February 2, 2023.
