POLICE have taken statements from 10 people about protests held in front of the Swedish and Dutch embassies in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.
“More people will be summoned in the future to assist in the investigations,” Kuala Lumpur police chief Azmi Abu Kassim told reporters today.
On Saturday, Dang Wangi police chief Noor Dellhan Yahaya said police were alerted to two gatherings – the first outside the Swedish embassy to hand over a memorandum protesting the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran in Stockholm and a solidarity demonstration at the Dutch embassy – which did not comply with the law.
Noor Delihan said police investigating the incident under section 9(5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012. – Bernama, February 2, 2023.
