MALAYSIA recorded 293 new Covid-19 cases yesterday against 285 a day earlier. 

According to the KKMNow website the total number of infections since the start of the pandemic stood at 5.034 million cases. 

Selangor posted the highest number of infections yesterday with 84, followed by Kuala Lumpur (69) and Penang (28).

Perak logged 13 new cases, Negri Sembilan (12), Johor (15), Sarawak (15), Sabah (5), Malacca (19), Putrajaya (6), Kedah (18), Pahang (2), Terengganu (4), Kelantan (2) and Labuan (1). 

There were no cases in Perlis. 

The Health Ministry also reported two Covid-19 deaths yesterday in Johor and Sarawak with none dead on arrival, bringing the toll to 36,932. 

The number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care units stood at 12. – January 22, 2023.
