PAKATAN Harapan (PH) has started informal talks with Barisan Nasional (BN) on the distribution of seats and use of party symbols in upcoming state elections, Rafizi Ramli said.

The PKR deputy president said an official discussion involving central-level party leaders has not been scheduled.

“What is happening now (PH-BN discussion) is not official,” he told reporters in Kuala Terengganu today.

He gave an example of informal talks taking place at the state level, such as between the Selangor menteri besar with the state’s Umno chairman.

“Even in Terengganu, I know that (PAS) Terengganu-Kelantan leadership council chairman Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad has met with Umno chairman Ahmad Said.

“But it’s not official yet. We still want to set the parameters (for the discussion). It has not happened yet,” he told the Terengganu PKR convention.

Rafizi was asked about PH-BN cooperation in the state polls that will take place in Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Negri Sembilan, Selangor and Penang.

These states must hold their elections this year as they did not dissolve their assemblies for the general election in November. – January 21, 2023.
