285 new Covid cases, 7 deaths

MALAYSIA recorded 285 new Covid-19 cases yesterday compared to 318 a day earlier.  

According to the CovidNow website the total number of infections since the start of the pandemic stood at 5,034,228 cases.  

Selangor posted the highest number of new infections yesterday with 98 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (69) and Malacca (21). 

Perak logged 14 new cases, Negeri Sembilan (9), Johor (15), Sarawak (13), Sabah (4), Penang (11), Putrajaya (9), Kedah (8), Pahang (6), Terengganu (3), Kelantan (3), Perlis (1), and Labuan (1).  

The Health Ministry also reported seven Covid-19 deaths yesterday with no dead-on-arrivals bringing the total to 36,930.  

The number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care units stood at 16. – January 21, 2023.
