Malaysia reports 318 new Covid cases

Malaysia has logged 318 new Covid infections against 331 recoveries. Active cases have dropped to 10,377. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, January 20, 2023.

Malaysia logged 318 new infections against 331 recoveries while active cases dropped to 10,377.

Among the active cases, 9,960people (96%) were in home quarantine and 417 (4%) in hospital. 

Nineteen patients were in intensive care, 14 of whom required respiratory assistance.  

Of the new infections reported, Selangor registered 94 cases, Kuala Lumpur (71), Sarawak (20), Malacca (17), Sabah (16), Johor (15), Terengganu (13), Kedah (12), Negri Sembilan (12), Perak (12), Penang (11), Putrajaya (11), Pahang (8), and Kelantan (6).  

Perlis and Labuan did not report any new infections.  

There were also no deaths linked to coronavirus yesterday. – January 20, 2023.
