WATER security must be given attention given the impact of global climate change, Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said yesterday.

According to Nik Nazmi, the country must ensure it had adequate water to deal with the phenomenon.

“As a small country, we will also be affected by global climate change. Now we are experiencing El Nino and La Nina, so the most important thing is to pay attention to water supply,” he said.

Nik Nazmi said the government was ensuring that the country’s forest reserves and mangroves are preserved, adding that the government is co-operating with other countries to help it achieve its goals.

He also asked the people to play their role by saving water. – Bernama, January 18, 2023.
