Nur Jazlan declares Dr Mahathir 'father of fake news'

FORMER prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is the “father of fake news”, said Deputy Home Minister Nur Jazlan Mohamed.

Nur Jazlan told Utusan Malaysia Dr Mahathir was a purveyor of fake news who was blaming the government and the Registrar of Societies (RoS) for Bersatu’s problems.

Jazlan said Dr Mahathir should remember what had caused Umno to be declared illegal in 1988 when he was the prime minister, home minister and Umno president.

He said the same thing had happened to Bersatu, which was unable to be registered because RoS had received many complaints from the members.

“He (Dr Mahathir) has caused Umno to be declared illegal and be  dissolved after the party failed to adhere to the its constitution and the Societies Act.

“(When Bersatu failed to be registered) he blamed the government and RoS. He has called RoS biased, he has spread much fake news”

“He has forgotten what happened 30 years ago,” said Jazlan, whose father Mohamed Rahmat served in Dr Mahathir’s cabinet as information minister in 1987 to 1999.

Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor has also come to RoS’ defence.

He told Dr Mahathir not to interfere in the legal process and to mind his own party’s business instead of Umno’s.

ROS has threatened to not approve Bersatu’s registration over party election issues. It recently approved Umno’s request to postpone party elections beyond the 18 months allowed in the party constitution.

“This country has laws. Follow the laws!” said Tengku Adnan. 

“He should watch over his own party as ROS has reasons for its decisions,” said the Federal Territories Minister today. – March 11, 2018.

  • Al the spineless cretins out to tar the old man and also the audacity of the deputy minister in declaring the title BUT no bloody balls to tell off the obvious lies and fake declaration by his master. All these low life incompetent morons telling the Rakyat about the rule of laws that they themselves has with total impunity disregarded.

  • Everyone can see that Umno is behind the ROS in trying to make things difficult for Bersatu. They have use the ROS against DAP. Now they are using the ROS against Bersatu. They hide behind ROS. ROS has not been seen to be non-partisan. The postponement of Umno election is a classic example. They bent the rules to accommodate Umno. So, to accuse Dr M of fake news smacked on your own hypocrisy. Umno n BN is desperate. They are using every govt apparatus illegally to stay in power. They don't care the opinion of the world anymore. It is for their own survival. They knew that if they ever lost in the election, all the skeletons in the cupboard will come out n they will al be landed in prison. It is sad that the democracy system has been manipulated to put up criminals with dubious records to positions of power.

  • Dude..youre becoming fat these days, i wonder what did you put into your stomach lately.. u looked sharp and intelligent when u were vocal about 1mdb.. but ever since they assign you as a minister, you become fat and grumpy.. for me, fat and chubby is a sign somebpdy is lazy and greedy...sad but true..
