FOUR people, two of them children, were injured when a fire broke out in an apartment in Desa Aman Puri in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, early today.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said two women and a boy and a girl were hurt.

“The incident is believed to have occurred at 3am in an apartment with seven occupants on the first floor of a 12-storey building. When firemen arrived at the scene, the blaze had already been extinguished by (bystanders)

“Preliminary investigations showed the fire started at a sofa in the living room before the blaze spread to other parts of the apartment,” he said.

Norazam said the victims suffered burns to the face, hands and feet. They were taken to the Selayang Hospital for treatment.
