PAKATAN Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) will decide by the end of the month what form of cooperation the two coalitions will embark on in the Selangor elections.

Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari, who is the Selangor PH chairman, said he has met BN parties to to discuss the matter.

“Soon, this week or early next week, I will announce something. I will bring it up it today’s exco meeting and make some decisions. It is very positive discussion and I hope it will represent the sentiments of the federal government,” he said in Shah Alam today.

“Hopefully, we would have by the end of the month determined what kind of collaboration to set up (between the two coalitions) so that we can begin in February to prepare for the state elections,” he said.

Amirudin said he has from his party, PKR to start discussions on the collaboration. The final decision will be made by the PH parties.

“Basically I know there is no opposition to a deal. We just have to look at the formula. I have not met (BN members) formally but we have met informally at events (to discuss working together).

“It means we have to make a start to the discussion. There has to be a framework.” – Bernama, January 11, 2023.
