THE Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today expressed concern about the condition of the country’s security assets, especially old vessels belonging to the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) that needed to be replaced.
The ruler communicated this during a meeting with RMN Commander Admiral Mohd Reza Mohd Sany last Thursday.
Through a post on the Selangor Royal Office Facebook page, Sultan Sharafuddin as RMN captain-in-chief said the aged assets needed to be replaced to ensure that the sovereignty of the country’s waters was always preserved, and the navy needed to always be in a state of readiness.
Last Thursday, the monarch granted an audience to Mohd Reza in conjunction with the latter’s retirement.
Mohd Reza was appointed RMN commander on November 30, 2018 and will hand over duties to his successor this January 23 to RMN deputy commander, Vice Admiral Abdul Rahman Ayob. – Bernama, January 10, 2023.
