571 new Covid cases, 4 deaths

THE Health Ministry reported 571 new Covid-19 infections yesterday, bringing the cumulative number of cases to 5,029,908.

There were four deaths linked to the coronavirus yesterday. They were reported in Kedah, Perak, Sabah and Selangor.

The death toll stands at 36,874.

Of the new infections, Selangor logged 216 cases, Kuala Lumpur (103), Sarawak (40), Malacca (32), Kedah (31), Penang (31), Negri Sembilan (26), Pahang (21), Johor (17), Perak (15), Sabah (15), Terengganu (9), Putrajaya (8), Kelantan (4), Labuan (2) and Perlis (1).

At present, 585 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised with 34 under intensive care. – January 8, 2023.
